HI!  Welcome to my website.  My name is Sandra Kay.  I write contemporary western romance novels, have been a member of the Orange County Chapter of Romance Writers of America since 2000, and served on the Board of Director's for the past 3 years.  

I have, now, retired from the Board which gives me the time and freedom I need to finish the edits and galleys for Heart of Stone as well as pursue new projects.  I enjoy every minute of my association with the talented authors in our chapter.

I am married to a wonderful man, Bob, who has encouraged and supported me throughout the process of writing my books.  My two daughters are a joy, and my 7 (yes, I said seven) grandchildren are real treasures.

Stories have always flitted through my mind, even as a child.  I can remember a story I wrote in grade school telling about myself.  In proudly relating that I was born in the San Joaquin Valley in California, I wrote the Sand Walking Valley.  It made sense to me!!

Of course, later my stories were more about the alpha hero saving the damsel in distress.  Now we know that the heroine can be a strong woman, but maybe still like to be saved by a hunky cowboy.

JOKE OF THE DAY--

A girl was visiting her blonde friend, who had acquired two new dogs, and asked her what their names were. The blonde responded by saying that one was named 
Rolex and one was named Timex.   Her friend said, 'Whoever heard of someone naming dogs like that?' 

'HELLLOOOOOOO......,' answered the blond.  'They're watch dogs!'

My first book, HEART OF STONE, will be coming out within the next year through The Wild Rose Press, Yellow Rose imprint.  Heart of Stone won first place in the Fort Bend Writers Guild contest.  I am in the process of completing the second book in the Brandon's series, with a working title of Cady's Chance.  The third book is about Tyler Brandon, and the fourth and final in the Brandon series will be about the youngest brother, Jefferson.

 

The Brandon's have a cattle ranch in Central Texas, a beautiful part of the great state of Texas.  Having visited there many times on my granddaddy's farm, I have first hand knowledge of the beauty and greenness of that area. 

 

I love the characters in this series, and hope that you will, too.
